A teenager who died after suffering a stroke on Christmas Day has given the gift of life to others after his family donated his organs. Kyle Mcfadyean, 18, passed away in hospital four days after suddenly falling ill. His devastated family did not want his death to be in vain and they agreed that his organs could be used to help others. They have since heard at least two patients have already benefitted from Kyle's gift of life. His dad Mark, of Gallowhill, Paisley, told The Daily Record: "It wasn't a difficult decision to donate Kyle's organs because we would readily have taken something had it been available to save our son. "So far, we know that Kyle's pancreas and kidneys have been given to a person in their 50s. "We also received a letter from a 52-year-old woman suffering from diabetes who has received my son's liver. "His heart valves are also waiting to be used and will possibly be shared among three kids. It's a comfort for us to know that lives are being saved." Kyle, a martial arts expert, became unwell at his girlfriend Amy Ellerby's house in York. He complained of headaches and feeling sick before he became paralysed down his right side. When Kyle was taken to hospital, doctors discovered he had suffered a massive stroke due to a blood clot in his brain. Kyle lost his fight for life in York Hospital on December 29. Mark revealed he had spoken to Kyle on Christmas Day, just hours before he took ill. And the pair had been looking forward to meeting on Boxing Day. Mark added: "We chatted on the phone as normal and Kyle told me he would take me for a pint. "That was the last thing he said to me. I was devastated when I received a call from Kyle's mum to say that my son was unwell." During the four days he spent in York Hospital's stroke unit, Kyle woke up for brief periods. His family and friends were always at his bedside. Mark added: "It's so hard to try to come to terms with Kyle's death. "He should have been with me the day after he became ill. "Kyle was funny and popular and had loads of pals. "He had a great sense of humour and was a fun-loving guy. "He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him." Kyle, who was originally from Paisley, lived with his mum Valerie and her partner Dave Dalling in Haxby, near York. The teenager worked as a catering assistant at a care home in Yorkshire. But he had just been accepted into the RAF after passing his exams. He had achieved black belt status in tae kwon do. His family say the fact that he was so fit has made it harder for them to accept his sudden death. Kyle is survived by his parents, his 14-year-old brother Cole Mcfadyean and six-year-old half-brother Luke.
